Short Sleeve Performance Race Shirts 100% Recycled Polyester, 100% Made in USA
To align with our conservation ethic and reduce waste, our race entry fee does not include a race shirt. We take our shirts very seriously and only want to offer something that runners will appreciate. We are pleased to offer short sleeve, men's and women's, moisture-wicking performance fabric shirts made from 100% recycled polyester. The shirts perform like typical moisture-wicking polyester shirts, but use 70% less energy to produce. Each shirt is produced by using 8-12 raw post-consumer plastic bottles. The shirts are made by a Brunswick, Maine-based company, Atayne that is committed to making products that are safe for both human health and the environment. These shirts are produced from fiber to finish in the US and are reviewed by a third party to guarantee environmental and human health standards. Runners must buy their shirt by June 9th, 2013, in order to be guaranteed the desired size on race day. Orders may be placed after this date, however sizes cannot be guaranteed. We will do our best to forecast the number of shirts needed after 6/9. Shirts must be claimed by a runner or their designee at one of the pre-race packet pickups or before 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2013. Shirts not claimed after this time will be forfeited. Shirts will not be shipped after the race.
Race Hats
Our moisture-wicking performance fabric race hats can be purchased for $15.
Glass Mugs

Refund Policy and Refund Option
We offer a flexible refund policy. Your best option is to purchase the Refund Option when you register. It is a set amount, and can be exercised anytime prior to the start of the race. The Refund Option is like buying registration insurance that protects you from unexpected events. We realize that life happens and sometimes it's not possible or advisable for runners to participate in a race. Sometimes runners suffer injuries while training, learn that they're pregnant, get called to perform military duty, lose a job, or must attend to a family emergency. Sometimes races get cancelled due to acts of God.

Refund Option Rules:

If you purchase the Refund Option at the time of registration, you can request a refund anytime prior to the start of the race. Requests for refunds must be made by completing the form on the Refunds & Deferrals page of our website. If the race is cancelled, you may request a refund only if you purchased the refund option at the time of registration. Refunds will be credited to the credit card used for registration.

If you do not purchase the Refund Option when you register, we will refund partial amounts through 11:59pm EST on June 8, 2016. You need to use the form on the Refunds & Deferrals page of our website to request the refund.
All refunds will be processed through Race Wire, our online registration company. No cash or checks will be sent.

If the race is cancelled due to a situation that is beyond the race director’s control it will not be postponed and no refunds will be given.
Chip Timing
A disposable timing chip will be attached to the back of each person's race bib. Please do not remove or fold the timing chip. The timing company will send you a text message and email after the race with your race results. When you register please be sure to include your cell phone number and email address.
Wave Start
A Wave Start process will again be used to facilitate a more efficient and convenient race day experience for all participants. This process is necessary because a large field of runners is anticipated and due to the presence of bottlenecks on the course. During the registration process half marathon runners will be asked to submit their expected pace. Every runner will be assigned a start wave before the race. Your bib will be color coded either green or orange to indicate which of the two waves you are stating in. Wave Two will start approximately 3 to 4 minutes after Wave One. A start mat will be used to keep track of the precise moment that each person crosses the start line and to calculate their total time.
