About maCares
maCares is a 501(c)(3) organization that is committed to ‘helping service dogs help others’ by improving the quality of life for veterans, children, and adults. maCares also sponsors emergency veterinary care for rescued animals.
Proceeds from the maCares Tribute 5K Run/2.5K Walk series will support the maCares & faith Cares Service Dog Support Program. The maCares Service Dog Support Program provides financial assistance for the continual care costs of service dogs helping children or adults with physical, medical, and/or neurological challenges. The faith Cares Service Dog Support Program provides financial assistance for the continual care costs of service dogs helping veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or Traumatic Brain Injury. The covered expenses include re-certification training, veterinary, medications, grooming, and daily care including food, treats, and supplies.
