About the Roundhouse Fun Run for the Oceans: NOW VIRTUAL!
The Oceanographic Teaching Stations, Inc. which manages the Roundhouse Aquarium holds an Annual Fun Run for the Oceans, a fun, family 5K run or walk on the sand! The event raises critical funds to care for the marine animals at the aquarium and fuels our science-based education programs that teach people of all ages about tidelands, our beaches and the ocean. Now, more than ever, we also need your help to support distance learning programs for our students and teachers who are starting the new school year at home.
To continue to stem the spread of COVID-19, LA County's Department of Beaches and Harbors has directed that all in-person sports events like our Fun Run will not be permitted. Not to worry, we have a virtual program planned for all!
Participants can run virtually anytime and anywhere, but we still want a time to come together! Our Virtual Live Fun Run for the Oceans Event will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 9:30AM. The event will celebrate YOU and our community of supporters, the Roundhouse, and have fun with music and our raffle drawing.
Take a look at how you can participate:
1) Run as a Virtual Runner – run anywhere you want and upload your time!
2) Create a Virtual Team or Become a Fundraiser and invite your friends and family to support the Roundhouse Aquarium.
3) Purchase raffle tickets to win some great prizes! You can add them onto your registration or buy them separately on our website.
