"See Me"
Advocates Inc, a non-profit 501 (C) is hosting their inaugural "See Me" 5K fundraiser run walk through scenic Hopkinton State Park in Hopkinton, Massachusetts.
It is estimated that in this country nearly 60 million people will experience severe emotional distress and mental health challenges resulting from various causes. One of the barriers to seeking and receiving the support needed during these experiences is fear: fear of being labeled, fear of being treated differently, fear of prejudice, and fear of a loss of autonomy.
This May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and on Saturday, May 3rd, we are holding our first 5K run/walk to share the message that a person experiencing these challenges is a person, not a diagnosis. See the person! See the individual! See Me!
This event attracts every type of runner and is great for the whole family. Proceeds benefit Advocates Inc. Mental Health Division to support individuals served in participating in purposeful and meaningful activities, while working towards recovery. Your contribution will support the mental health division and scholarships such as The Michael Jones Memorial Recovery Fund.
