About This Event
The 2nd Tonneson + Co 5k will take place around beautiful Lake Quannapowitt and is great for runners of all skill levels, as well as walkers. Strollers are welcome!
Proceeds from the event will go directly to the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry to benefit the Kids First Program. The Kids First program provides food to families with school age children during the summer months. Many families receive free or reduced price breakfast and lunch during the school year, but this help is not available during the summer. The Kids First program provides the added food items to help replace those meals.
Course
The course will start near the bandstand at Lake Quannapowitt (corner of Church St. & Lake Ave.) , continue around the lake in a clockwise direction, and finish near the bandstand.
Awards
Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers. There will also be age group awards for the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups:
14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. Participants that are 13 and under will receive a medal.
T-Shirts
T-shirts are guaranteed for all participants registered by June 27, 2014
Number pick-up
Numbers can be picked up on race day at the bandstand starting at 7:00 am.
Post Race
Please join us for refreshments and the awards ceremony after the race.
Directions & Parking
Take exit 40 off Rte 95/128. Take the Rte 129E exit off of the rotary and continue to follow Rte 129E around the lake. The bandstand is located on the common near the corner of Church Street and Lake Ave. Parking can be found throughout the area and is a short walk to the bandstand.
Raffle
There will be a raffle on the day of the race. Current raffle items include a $50 gift card to The Farmland and a Kings bowling package with an estimated value of $125 and a one-night stay with breakfast at the Sheraton Colonial. Tickets are $2 for one or $5 for three.
