About the Sunshine 5K
The first annual Sunshine 5K is a family-friendly, stroller-friendly run along a gentle course in Milton, MA. Runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels are welcome!
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Sunshine School, a local preschool that for the past 35 years has provided a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for countless young children to explore their potential as joyful, curious, and caring learners.
The Course
The Sunshine 5K will begin and end at Cunningham Hall, on Edge Hill Road in Milton, MA. The course follows a gentle route through residential neighborhoods of the town.
I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, and am in good health, and I am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them. I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or roller blades, animals, and personal music players are not allowed in the race and I will abide by all race rules. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the Sunshine School, Inc., all event sponsors, coordinating groups, and any individuals associated with the event and their representatives, assigns, and successors from any and all claims or liabilities arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. Race management reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of management's control such as weather, natural disasters, or other emergencies. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. Management may also alter the course for the safety of the athletes. I understand that the entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. In the case the entrant is a minor, the below electronic signature of the minor’s parent or legal guardian is mandatory as evidence of such parent’s or legal guardian’s waiver, certification, and consent of the foregoing. All persons under the age of 18 must have written consent of their parents or legal guardian to compete in this event. SecureFee™ Registration Cancellation Insurance is offered in most states. If purchased, your registration may be covered for one of the covered reasons stated in the policy.
