950 runners and walkers registered to continue Governor Cellucci's last campaign, the UMass ALS Cellucci Fund to fund breakthrough ALS research at UMass Medical School. They all raced for an ALS cure!
Course
To benefit the UMass ALS Cellucci Fund, the Second Annual Governor Cellucci Tribute Road Race will be held in the Governor's hometown of Hudson, Massachusetts on Saturday, July 25 at 9 a.m. The USATF-certified course for both runners (5K) and walkers (1.5 mi) traverses Hudson's Downtown Historic District, offering a flat, fast track. #UMassALS5k
Team Information
Team Leaders may be either runners or walkers, but both runners and walkers may join any team. Awards will be given to all registered members of the largest team.
Fundraising for the UMass ALS Cellucci Fund
During the registration process, Individual runners and walkers as well as team captains have the opportunity to select to fundraise for the UMass ALS Cellucci Fund, contacting family and friends who may be unable to participate in the race but who wish to contribute to our overall fundraising effort!
Trophies
Trophies will be awarded to the Overall Male and Female 5K Winners and, additionally, to the first three 5K finishers in the following age groups: 17 and under; 18 - 29; 30 - 39; 40 -49; 50 - 59; and 60+.
Runners and Walkers Amenities
All runners and walkers will receive a 2015 Performance Tee and a 2015 Governor Cellucci Tribute Road Race medal. Waters and fresh fruit will be available in the Elks Pavilion, located just beyond the race Finish Line.
Bib Number and Tee Pick Up
Bib numbers and Tees may be picked up Friday, July 24, the day before the race, at the Hudson-Concord Elks Lodge, 99 Park Street, Hudson, from 4 - 7 p.m. On Race Day July 25, bib numbers and Tees may be picked up at the Elks Lodge beginning at 7:00 am.
Parking and Shuttle Vans
Beginning at 7:00 a.m., parking will be available at Hudson High School, 69 Brigham Street, Hudson. Shuttle vans will be onsite for the .7 mile distance to and from the Hudson-Concord Elks Lodge.
Handicap Parking
Handicap Parking for ALS patients will be provided at the Hudson Elks Lodge. Email the Race Director with the make, model and license plate number of the vehicle being used for transport.
