Course Description
The JB Blastoff begins at 10:30 a.m. starting and finishing at John Brewer's Tavern, 39 Main Street in Waltham. The course is a fast, fairly flat 3.1 miles (5K) and the event raises funds to fight brain cancer and provide critical support services in memory of Joseph Basile who passed away from a Glioblastoma brain tumor in 2005. Prizes to top male/female finishers plus various age categories. Runners and walkers welcome, and for safety purposes, no skateboards, roller blades/skates, bicycles, or animals can be taken on the course. Chip timing provided by RaceWire. We're once again proud to be part of the Race Around Waltham (RAW) Series which encourages participation in all Waltham races and tracks runners, walkers and volunteers for prizes. Party and refreshments post-race at John Brewer's. Runners and walkers welcome -- tell your friends and bring the kids!

Number Pick-up/Registration
Number pick up and registration will be available at John Brewer's, 39 Main Street Waltham, Saturday March 28 from 1-3 p.m. and race day from 9-10:15 a.m. Additional $5 charge for Saturday/Sunday registrations.
Parking is limited -- Please respect Walgreen's customers and only park in the JB Blastoff designated parking areas located at Watertown Savings Bank and The Gore Estate (and many thanks to both organizations for their generous support!).
The Mission
The mission of the JB Blastoff 5k Run/Walk is to raise funds to fight brain cancer and ease its effects on patients and families by providing critical support services monies for brain cancer research in memory of Joseph Basile who passed away from a Glioblastoma brain tumor in 2005. Glioblastoma is the most common and most aggressive form of primary brain cancer. Please spread the word for this great cause.
