1. Saturday, May 2 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm at City Sports; 8510 Fenton St., Silver Spring. Cash or check only.
2. Race day, Sunday May 3 beginning at 7:00 am; 7500 Maple Ave., Takoma Park. Cash or check only.

5K Run and Walk starts at 8:00 am
1 mile Fun Run starts at 9:00 am (NEW this year - mile is timed!)
1/4 mile Youth Run at 9:15 am

5K Wave Start
8:00 am Start - Wave 1: 10 minute mile and faster
8:03 am Start - Wave 2: Over 10 minute mile and runners with strollers in the back
8:06 am Start - Wave 3: Walkers
Race Location
Starting line is in front of the Takoma Park Community Center.
7500 Maple Ave.

Course Map
It can be viewed at www.TKPK5K.com. The Fun Run follows Maple Avenue to Sligo Creek Parkway and back to the Community Center. The Youth Run will take place close to the Community Center.

Strollers and baby joggers are allowed at the back of Wave 2. No skates, bikes, headsets, or pets permitted.
Prize Medals
Prizes will be awarded based on chip timed finish for the 5K run in the following categories:

Top male and female overall
Top boy and girl 15 to 18
Top boy and girl 11 to 14
Top boy and girl 10 and under

Prizes will be awarded based on net timed finish for the 1mile run in the following categories (14 and under only):

Top boy and girl 11 to 14
Top boy and girl 7 to 10
Top boy and girl 6 and under

*Awards for the 5K will be announced no later than 10:00 am. The 1/4 mile Youth Run will not be timed.
Post Race Activities
Plenty of good food, cool drinks and music will be on hand while race results are tabulated.

Visit the sponsor fair on Grant Avenue before, during, and after the race. Show our sponsors how much you appreciate their donations by visiting their booths.

Race Proceeds
Proceeds from the race fund PTA programs focusing on walking for health and bike/pedestrian safety at East Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Rolling Terrace, and Piney Branch Elementary Schools and Takoma Park Middle School.
Parking
Parking is available at either the Takoma Park Middle School parking lot (7611 Piney Branch Rd. Silver Spring, MD 20910) OR the Takoma Park Elementary School parking lot (enter off of Philadelphia Ave. between Maple Ave. and Piney Branch Rd.)

I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity and that I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me.
