Event Information
LOSST 118 Mile Run
LOST is an excursion around parts of Lake Okeechobee, the largest freshwater lake in the United States outside of the Great Lakes. Runners will be on a dike 32 feet high and get a great view of the Lake and surrounding canal system. A Florida Panther, bobcat, and numerous gators and birds have been spotted.
Test your limits in a beautiful natural environment.
This year's LOST 118-Mile Endurance Run will be held February 11,12 in Okeechobee, Florida. The race is a circumnavigation of Lake Okeechobee using the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (LOST), a mostly paved and completely level pathway that encircles the lake and runs along the top of the Herbert Hoover Dike, the earthen wall that keeps the lake within its nominal boundaries.

The run will begin at 7:00AM EST, Saturday, February 11th on the dike at the intersection of Routes 441 and 78 just south of Okeechobee, Florida.

This year the race will not go around the entire lake, due to construction, so it will start going counterclockwise to the Okie-Tantie Campgrounds, then return to the start. Then the runners will go clockwise around the lake to Port Mayaca and return to the start. Finally, the runners will go counterclockwise, past the Okie-Tantie Campgrounds to Nicodemus Slough then return to the Start. The dike itself is flat, smooth pavement except for a 20 mile stretch that is a mix of two track road and rough, crushed coral rock.
