ABOUT RUN FOR THE ARC
Our 5k&10K course maps are available for review here: http://www.runforthearc.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/5k_10kmaps.pdf

Our USATF certified course begins and ends at our main office - 200 Research Parkways, Meriden, CT. It passes through portions of Meriden and Wallingford to emphasize our deep roots in and decades of service to both communities.

Awards will be given for the following: one course record winner; overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for men; overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for women; the first place male winner in each age group; and, the first place female winner in each age group. Age groups include the following: Under 18, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and, 70+. Arc of Meriden-Wallingford employees and their immediate families may participate in the various events, but they cannot be considered for awards regardless of where they place.

T-shirts are included in the registration fees; although, we welcome - and would be very grateful for - an additional donation of $10 to offset the costs to our organization. Because of RaceWire's shipping policies we cannot provide a free t-shirt to anyone who registers on or after September 21, 2017.

Please register online at this site before race day. Check-in and same day registration begins at 8:00 AM at 200 Research Parkway, Meriden, CT on Saturday, October 7, 2017. You may pick up your number and race packet at that time. Please arrive on time to ensure convenient onsite parking and smooth registration. The 10K race begins at 9:00 AM. The 5K race begins at 9:15 AM.

We will have an after-race awards ceremony and party on the lawn adjacent to our building. Please join us.

Arc of Meriden-Wallingford is not responsible for accidents, illnesses, injuries or death as a result of participation in this event. You understand that the risks associated with running in this program include, but are not limited to: weather effects, including high humidity and heat or cold; falls or other physical injuries; contact with other participants; traffic and the road or race track conditions of the road or track; all such risks being known and appreciated by you. Having read and knowing these facts, by registering for the race you voluntarily waive and release the ARC of Meriden-Wallingford, its officers, directors, agents, employees, sponsors, volunteers, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of the minor’s participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of known or unanticipated risks, negligence or carelessness, which could result in harm, injury, illness, or death to you; damage to property; or harm, injury, illness, or death to third parties. You FREELY, EXPRESSLY, AND KNOWINGLY AGREE TO ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, whether known or unknown. There are no deferrals allowed and no refunds. You cannot transfer your entry to another person for any reason. Race organizers reserve the right to reject, disqualify, or bar any participant from the event for any reason. This may be based on, but not limited to violations such as: unsportsmanlike conduct, transferring or attempting to transfer an official bib tag or number to another person, providing false information on the race entry form, or creating unsafe conditions for others. Minors (under 18 years of age) may participate, but a parent or guardian must provide an electronic signature (initials on the minor's registration form), which verifies that the parent or guardian read, understands, and agrees to waiver statements on this page and gives explicit permission for the minor to participate. Arc of Meriden-Wallingford employees and their immediate family members may participate in the event, but they may not be considered for awards. Pet Policy: We cannot allow pets at the event due to liability and insurance restrictions as well as general concern for the wellbeing of all attendees. Dogs, cats, or other types of pets are not allowed anywhere at the event. Please leave your pets at home. The only exception to this policy is for those with service dogs. Thank you for understanding. Course Policy: Only registered runners can be on the course. Pets are not permitted on the course. Roller blades, skateboards, wagons, bicycles and unauthorized motorized vehicles are not permitted on the course. Strollers are allowed in the 5K only. To ensure everyone’s safety, participants with strollers should line up in the back of the 5K group at the start line. Spectators are not allowed on the course because of safety concerns. We welcome spectators to gather along the course route to support the runners. MINORS must have parental/guardian consent: A parent or legal guardian must sign the minor’s registration, which acknowledges that the parent or guardian read this waiver, agrees to its terms and conditions, and gives permission for the minor to participate. As parent or guardian, your electronic signature (initials on the minor’s registration form) verifies that you, the parent or guardian, knows, accepts, and agrees to the following: • Running is a potentially strenuous and hazardous activity. • The minor should not run unless physically and medically able. • The minor is able to safely complete the event. • The parent/guardian understands the risks associated with running in this program including, but not limited to: weather effects, including high humidity and heat or cold; falls or other physical injuries; contact with other participants; traffic and the road or race track conditions of the road or track; all such risks being known and appreciated by the parent/guardian. • Having read and knowing these facts, the parent/guardian on his or her behalf and the minor’s behalf, voluntarily waives and releases the ARC of Meriden-Wallingford, its officers, directors, agents, employees, sponsors, volunteers, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of the minor’s participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of known or unanticipated risks, negligence or carelessness, which could result in harm, injury, illness, or death to the minor; damage to property; or harm, injury, illness, or death to third parties. The parent/guardian FREELY, EXPRESSLY, AND KNOWINGLY AGREES TO ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, whether known or unknown. • The parent/guardian further authorizes and empowers any medical care or treatment for the minor that may appear reasonably necessary as a result of emergency, accident or illness of the minor before, during, or after the event. • The parent/guardian gives permission to the ARC of Meriden-Wallingford to use any photographs, videos, or any other record of this event that might include the minor. • The parent/guardian understands that the minor should conduct himself or herself in a safe manner at the event, and the parent/guardian will ensure the minor abides by this guideline. • The parent/guardian’s electronic signature (initials on the registration form) verifies that the parent/guardian read all policies and waiver information on this page and that the parent/guardian understands it completely and agrees to its terms and conditions. SecureFee™ Registration Cancellation Insurance is offered in most states. If purchased, your registration may be covered for one of the covered reasons stated in the policy.
