About This Event
Please join us on Sunday, October 1st, rain or shine, for our fifth annual MarcUS for Change 5K Walk & Run in Stamford's beautiful Mill River Park while we celebrate the life of Marcus Dixon McInerney and support Stamford's youth. Our 5K is a way for the Stamford community to come together to raise funds for programs that help students needing additional academic and/or social support. SPEF’s nationally recognized mentoring program is one such program. Gather your friends, family, co-workers and neighbors. Walk or run to show you care. Together we can educate and empower Stamford’s next generation!
Participants 18 years of age and younger can register for free using the promo code: student.
The 5K will be just one event under the umbrella of US Day which will include entertainment, food, and fun activities that promote the health and empowerment of our community's youth. All participants will receive a free t-shirt. The school with the largest number of participants will receive the MarcUS for Change Spirit Award as well as $500 towards their school's PTO.
PACKET PICK-UP FOR PEOPLE WHO PRE-REGISTERED WILL BE TAKING PLACE AT THE STAMFORD PUBLIC EDUCATION FOUNDATION (247 MAIN ST, STAMFORD, CT) ON THE FOLLOWING DAYS:

About MarcUS for Change
The work of MarcUS for Change is inspired by the life and memory of Marcus Dixon McInerney. While Marcus’ life ended tragically and far too soon, his ability to turn his life around and to harness the support of so many is an example of the power and possibility for change. MarcUS for Change’s mission is to raise awareness and financial support for mentoring programs in Stamford that provide our youth with the resources needed to reach for success and build happy, full lives.
