Description
The St. Catharine Monster Dash is a family 5K fun run/walk through the neighborhood streets of beautiful Bexley. Costumes are highly encouraged and ribbons will be awarded to the best costumes! Medals will be awarded to top overall male and female race winners in various age categories.
A Trick or Trot Run will take place following the 5K for children ages 8 and under. The kids will "trick and trot" around the school getting Halloween treats along the way.
Course
The race begins in front of St. Catharine Church at the intersection of S. Gould Road and Brentwood Road. The route runs South on S. Gould, then West on Sherwood Rd. It continues North on S. Parkview Avenue then East on Powell Avenue. The route finishes running South on S. Gould Road; ending at the Start/Finish line at S. Gould Rd. and Brentwood Road in front of the church. There will be a water station at the Start/Finish line and another at the halfway point of the race.
Race Shirts
Each runner registered for the Monster Dash or the Trick or Trot by Thursday, October 12th, will receive a t-shirt commemorating this fun event. You may still register following the 12th, but you will not receive a t-shirt.
Race Bib Pick-Up
Each registered runner will receive a race bib. Bibs will be available for pick-up Thursday, October 26th at 3 PM. Details to follow.
Race Day Fun
Following the race, please join us for snacks and refreshments. The Halloween fun continues with a medal ceremony for race winners, a costume contest, and fun games for the kids!
I know that running a road race is potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, and am in good health, and I am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but no limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road ,all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or roller blades, and animals, and are not allowed in the race and I will abide by all race rules. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and inconsideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release St. Catharine Church and School, the city of Bexley, all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. I understand that this event does not provide for refunds in the event of a cancellation, and by signing this waiver, I consent that I am not entitled to a refund if the event is cancelled before or during the event.
