About This Event
Join us on May 5th, 2018 for a run around scenic Burke Lake! The Superhero 5-Mile Race around the lake will begin around 8:00am followed by a 1-Mile Fun Run at 8:30am. Don't forget to dress as your favorite superhero!

** Please Note: This IS a trail run. The beginning and end of the race will be on pavement but a majority of the run is on the trail around the lake.

Proceeds of the event will benefit Team Audrey, a 501(c)3 non-profit based in Vienna, VA that provides financial assistance to HLH families admitted to Cincinnati Children's Hospital, financially supports life-saving HLH research, and spreads HLH awareness within the community.

Pricing:
$35/person for 5-Miler until 4/15
$40/person for 5-Miler from 4/16 - 4/30
$45/person for 5-Miler from 5/1 - 5/5

$20/person for 1-Mile Fun Run

Course
Across America, the word is out - Burke Lake Park boasts one of the 10 best fitness trails in the nation. That’s the assessment of the American Hiking Society, after its trail specialists hiked high and low to find top 10 candidates in or near a major metropolitan area (close enough to use before or after work or on lunch hours) with portions that can be completed in 60-90 minutes.

Just 25 minutes from Washington, D.C., the Burke Lake Loop Trail follows the shoreline 4.7 miles around the lake, with bays jutting out from the main body of water that provide a welcome sense of solitude. Gravel surfaced for most of its length, Burke Lake’s loop trail is “a fine choice for either a brisk walk or a run,” plus it’s also suitable for biking.
1-Mile Fun Run
The 1-Mile Fun Run will begin at 8:30am. Parents do NOT need to register to run with the kiddos. Participants in the 1-mile run will receive a t-shirt and finisher medal!
Virtual Runner

Awards
There will be awards given to the top 3 overall males and females as well as "best superhero costume" awards!
Packet Pick-Up
Early packet pick-up will be held on May 4th from 4pm-7pm at the Potomac River Running Store in Vienna (111 Maple Ave W, Vienna, VA 22180). Stop by, pick up your goodies and get some new gear for the race!

Packet pick-up will also be taking place on race day from 7-8am at the miniature golf course at Burke Lake Park.
Parking and Entrance Fee
Both the Fun Run and the 5-Mile Race will begin and end near the miniature golf course. Please park in the parking lot near the mini golf/ice cream parlor/mini train.

**There is NO entrance fee for Fairfax County residents.

**Charge for non-county residents on weekends and holidays, April through late October:
