About the Race
The Race to the Summit Half Marathon and 5K is a road race run on a challenging course that winds its way through scenic state forests and reservation land ]ending at the summit of Wachusett Mountain by way of its auto road.

Post race, runners will be brought to the base area by the Wachusett Mountain by chair lift for Wachusett BBQFest. BBQFest admission and chair lift ride are included in the registration fee.

The combination of a challenging, yet scenic course and post race party at Wachusett Mountain's BBQFest provides the runner with a very unique experience and a great addition to any fall competition bill!

This race is organized by the Marlene A. Mills Foundation which is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization as an authorized affiliate of the Road Runner's Club of America. The purpose of the Marlene A. Mills Foundation is to perpetuate the sense of community involvement and volunteerism so selflessly displayed by Marlene A. Mills during her life. The Event will meet this purpose by promoting, managing, and implementing a running event that raises funds to support The Marlene Mills Memorial Scholarship and The Dana Farber Cancer Institute as well as promoting the sport of running as a healthy lifestyle.
