Course-USATF Sanctioned
This USATF Sanctioned 5K run/walk begins Grace Chapel, 59 Worthen Road in Lexington and winds its way through tree covered back roads and back toward the center. It contains flat and hilly terrain, including 2 challenging hills. Please OBEY all signs and try to STAY TO THE RIGHT AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. We will have volunteers and several police officers managing the course. THE COURSE IS OPEN TO TRAFFIC.
About this Event
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! Please help us raise awareness and funding! We are raising money specifically for Boston Children's Hospital. Proceeds will be going toward DIPG Brain Tumor Research.

What is DIPG? Diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) is a brain tumor found in a part of the brain stem called the pons. The pons controls essential bodily functions such as heartbeat, breathing, swallowing, eye movement, eyesight, and balance. DIPG affects children almost exclusively. Approximately 200-400 children in the United States are diagnosed with DIPG each year. These children are typically between the ages of 4 and 11. DIPG accounts for roughly 10-15% of all brain tumors in children. Only 10% of children with DIPG survive for 2 years following their diagnosis, and LESS THAN 1% survive for 5 years. The MEDIAN survival time is 9 months from diagnosis.
This event is being hosted by Fitness Together in Lexington, MA in efforts to raise money and awareness for the battle against childhood cancer. Thank you for joining us in support of this amazing hospital and their research!

Number Pick-Up
Early pick up will take place at the 2 Winona Road Burlington 01803 on Friday September 15th from 2pm-6pm.

Day of Race: number pick up will take place in the back parking lot of Grace Chapel- Worthen Road from 7:00-8:00am.

Use 59 Worthen Road as your destination in your GPS. There is plenty of parking in the surrounding areas. Go to this link for various parking options www.lexpark.org
