Friends - the organization I work for, BEST Kids, is hosting a Superhero 5K to benefit the youth we work with - kids in the Washington DC foster care system. In honor of BK’s 17th birthday, I am ambitiously attempting to raise $1,700 for the organization’s run. Every dollar donated will go back to helping our kids by providing them with a mentor and new opportunities/experiences.
Think about how crucial mentors are for a second: Imagine what your life would have been like if you had NO support system, NO reliable adults to help you, and didn’t have that ONE person who gave you advice and lead you to where you are now. With your help, our kids will be provided with the support they need from a caring, trusted adult — their mentor.
It just takes one person! Help us help our youth and provide them with opportunities to learn about the world outside foster care.
