About Paws For a Cause
Shultz’s Guest House is a 501c3 dog rescue shelter, located in Dedham, MA. Shultz is run on an all volunteer basis. The shelter transports around 20 dogs up from Tennessee about twice a month from over populated kill shelters and finds them forever homes. The second organization we are raising money for is Project Samana. Project Samana is a veterinary and education outreach program working in the poorest regions of Latin America and the Caribbean. Using the “think globally, act locally” concept, our goal is to reach the point so that the local projects will be self sustaining. In helping the animals, we also hope to improve the general economic well being of the area through basic training and our constant presence. Through the efforts of volunteer veterinarians, technicians, students and local residents, our mission is to: Provide necessary medical and surgical services to the animals in the region, educate animal owners in the health, care and welfare of all animals, and the proper use of work animals. Lastly, we would like to educate local government officials and show them the impact of animal welfare and its importance to developing a viable tourist industry.
