About 2019 maCares Virtual Walk/Run
maCares is a 501(c)(3) organization that is committed to ‘helping service dogs help others’ by improving the quality of life for veterans, children, and adults. maCares also sponsors emergency veterinary care for rescued animals.
Since its inception in 1998 (nonprofit status in 2012), maCares has assisted dozens of organizations.
Currently, maCares impacts our community with the following programs:
– maCares’ Service Dog Support Program
helps cover the continual care costs for service dogs assisting those who have physical, neurological and/or medical challenges
– faith Cares, a veteran-exclusive level within our Service Dog Support Program
helps cover the continual care costs for service dogs assisting veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or Traumatic Brain Injury
– maCares Animal Relief and Emergency Services Fund (maC.A.R.E.S. Fund)
helps with the cost of emergency services and special care needed for rescued animals in association with a local animal rescue group
