This year marks the 5th anniversary of my breast cancer diagnosis. I wanted to do something special to celebrate being cancer free for 5 years!

I was watching the Sugar Bowl and a segment came on about college football athletes who had gone to extraordinary measures to raise money for a cause. Dean Janikowski, a kicker for Washington State University, was highlighted. He raised over $100,000 for the Heather Janikowski Foundation. I was intrigued by this and started to read about Heather. She lost her battle to breast cancer in 2022. The theme of this year's walk is "Do it for her." It really hit home and I decided I would do this for Heather and all the other angels who have lost their battle to this monster.
