October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM). During DVAM, victim advocates, survivors of abuse, their loved ones, and the surrounding community come together to honor the lives lost to domestic violence, celebrate the progress that has been made to help prevent and end abuse, and connect with others working to create change.

I am deeply committed to advocating for this cause and running the race to share my experience, raise awareness, and make a positive difference to support women affected by domestic violence in their healing journey.

All proceeds raised benefit the women and children of Abby's House, a nonprofit organization that provides shelter and affordable housing, as well as advocacy and support services to help and empower survivors of domestic violence.

About 14th Annual Abby's House Hybrid 5K Run/Walk
Group/Individual fundraising efforts directly benefit the women and children who call Abby’s House home. Over 500 women, with or without children, used our advocacy services through referrals, walk-in appointments, phone calls or participating in Women’s Center activities. By participating in our 5K Run/Walk, virtually or in-person, you’ll help raise critical funds to help sustain our shelter and supportive housing as well as the advocacy services that the women and children we serve rely on to help them move forward on their journeys towards healing and recovery.
