Ten years ago on June 27th, my father, Charly Hansen, passed away from colon cancer. My run this year in MOMS Run is in his memory and his honor. It's amazing to think about how life has changed this decade, but one thing has remained constant: my love for my father. The first MOMS Run I ran, he 'ran' with me and when I found out I was able to fundraise through the run, I decided that this would be my way of honoring him.
The Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is for all cancers, which I know my dad would appreciate, as there are too many forms of cancer out there and too many people in all our lives impacted by it.
The MOMS Run is an incredible event, not just a run. I have the privilege and honor of knowing the family and calling one of them a dear friend. I've volunteered in the past and I have such respect for the family for keeping with this cause for so many years. They are truly inspirational.
Thank you for considering supporting the Claudia Adams Barr Program in Innovative Basic Cancer Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and at the same time, honoring my father and the MOMS Run.
