Canal Run for the Troops

This event is to benefit Cape Cod Cares For the Troops. I plan to walk it as fast as I can. My training has been 4 miles a day and I do it in 55 minutes to an hour. Hope to finish before dark.

Seriously, this is a great 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2005 by a 12 year old Boy Scout, Dylan DeSilva, who has been sending care packages to troops deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan since then. At the request of the troops, packages also go to schools, orphanages, medical and dental clinics. About 23,000 packages have been sent so far. As a Vietnam veteran with nearly 6 years active service I know how much this support means to the men and women who have served our great country.

CCC4TT is a non profit, all volunteer 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission statements is: Sending care packages to our deployed troops, supporting our Blue Star Families, our veterans, our wounded men/women and honoring our Fallen Heroes and their Gold Star Families. To date over 23,000 care packages have been sent to our deployed troop. Funds raised at the Canal Run for the Troops will be used to pay the postage on this year Christmas Care Packages.
