We are fundraising for the Charles River Center in Needham MA. The mission of the Charles river center is to support kids and adults with developmental disabilities: offer them opportunities, include them in the community and foster independence.
A disability can be isolating both for the individual and the family as a whole. The Center has offered opportunities that otherwise would be impossible. They have brought families together and have provided much needed family support programs, residential services, employment opportunities and many more.
For us the center is particularly important since it has given our daughter Artemis the ability to participate to many programs she otherwise couldn’t, like after-school care, winter/spring break programs and summer camp. It may come as a surprise to many but for kids with disabilities there aren’t many options in terms of activities outside the regular school day. Artemis, despite her disabilities, loves other kids and loves socializing.Thanks to Charles River kids like Artemis have the chance to expand their day and engage in activities every child should...like be around other friends, play and interact.
Please help us support this excellent center that is a breath of fresh air to so many in the area.
