About this Event
Our 2019 Miles for Midwives DC 5K & Fun Run aims to raise awareness about the maternity care crisis in DC. This is a family friendly and stroller friendly race.

Arrival Time
Registration will open at 6:30am and will end at 7:45am. Roads will be closing to traffic promptly at 7:45am. Refreshments, music, and activities are provided. The 5K will start at 8:00am and the fun run will start at approximately 9:00am. Roads will open up again beginning at approximately 9:30am after our awards ceremony.
Directions & Parking
We will be at the north end of Anacostia Park. Enter "Anacostia Park Roller Skating Pavilion" into your GPS for the best directions. There is plenty of parking near the Pavilion and our race will be set up at the north end of the loop.
Course
The 5K is a 3.1 mile out and back course along the Anacostia River. The roads will be closed to traffic during the races.
Awards
An award ceremony will be held immediately after the Fun Run. Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers for adults as well as for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers for children and teens.
Celebration
After the run, we will have additional activities including yoga, face painting, music and more. Bring the whole family to hang out!
Number Pick-Up
Number Pick-Up (for those participating, including if you pre-registered) there are two options:
1) Friday, October 4th at The Well (3220 17th Street, NW, Suite #10, Washington, DC 20010) from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. If possible, we encourage runners to collect bibs on Friday between 4 and 9pm. We anticipate large crowds day of we’d love to streamline bib pick up to ensure a smoother Saturday and prompt race time.
2) On site from 6:30am until 7:45am. All participants must register online prior to the event date. Note: those who have registered for the fun run will not receive bibs.
Weather
The race will happen rain or shine unless the National Parks Service declares the weather too dangerous. No refunds will be given.
REGISTRATION COSTS
Registration is $30 until 9/5/2019 and you are guaranteed a shirt in your requested size.

9/6/2019 to 10/2/2019, registration is $35.00 and you are guaranteed a shirt, but it may not be in your preferred size.

After 10/2/2019, registration will occur with packet pick up and cost $40.00.
