Latinas Leading Tomorrow LLT 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1 Mile Dash
“Reaching for the stars one step at a time!”
Join us for our first annual LLT 5K Run/Walk and Kids 1 Mile Dash fundraising event! Latinas Leading Tomorrow (LLT) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization established to address the particular concerns of the Latina adolescents. LLT's mission is to develop programs and provide experiences that produce strong, successful young women who are empowered with the freedom and aspirations to be the Latina Leaders of Tomorrow. LLT's goals are to promote educational achievement and personal enrichment, develop leadership qualities, skills, and abilities, promote cultural identity, respect, pride and multicultural awareness, and promote community involvement. All proceeds from this event will benefit LLT programming.
Registration is limited, so register now to reserve your spot! Register by May 17 to guarantee your t-shirt size.
Schedule of Events
7:00-7:45am: Race Number, T-Shirt and race bag Pickup at Race Location
7:30am: Warm Up with Grant Hill of Mybootcamp
7:45am: Opening Host Erika Gonzalez, News4 Reporter and Anchor
8:00am: Start of 5K Run/Walk
8:15am: Start of Kids 1 Mile Dash (ages 5-12)
8:45am-11:00am: Post Race Party--Awards and music with our race host El Zol!
Race Course: Bluemount Trail
The Bluemont Trail is an out-and-back 5K course on the Four Mile Run and W&OD trails. The Kids 1 Mile Dash is an out-and-back 1 mile on the Four Mile Run.
Water Stops
There will be one water stop along the course.
Post-Race Party
After crossing the finish line, celebrate your accomplishment with friends, family, and runners/walker at the Post-Race Party! This is a great place to meet up with friends and family, hang out and relax during or after the 5K and Kids Dash. Enjoy music from El Zol, food, drinks, or visit our sponsors booths, local vendor booths, and health fair. Not a runner or a walker? Come cheer on the runners and walkers and enjoy the Post-Race Party. Everyone is invited!
Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers are needed to help with pre-event and day-of-event activities. Every hour of your volunteer time will help make a difference in the success of this event. Volunteers will receive a free Latinas Leading Tomorrow t-shirt. For young volunteers, we are giving community service hours.
Please register as a volunteer at this site! Our volunteer meeting will be Monday, May 13, 7pm at George Mason University, Founders Hall, Rm 113 (main bldg next to law school), 3351 B.C. Washington Blvd, Arlington VA 22201. arlington.gmu.edu

Donations
Please contribute to this fundraising event! Whether or not you join us on race day, please consider donating! All amounts are appreciated and will greatly benefit LLT programming. Donations are accepted through this website--please complete this registration form and select "Donation" and enter the amount below.
Strollers
Strollers are allowed on the race course. Runners/walkers with strollers must start at the very end of the pack.
Refund Policy
No refunds will be issued for this race. If the race is cancelled for any reason it will not be rescheduled. There will be no refunds for a cancelled race. The only reason for a cancellation would be for unsafe conditions for both athletes and volunteers.
Race Location and Parking
399 North Manchester St., Arlington, VA 22203
Parking is limited. Arrive early to allow time to park. There will be volunteers directing you to park. Please follow their directions. Parking is available by the shelter and secondary parking is located near the tennis court. When these lots fill up, automobiles will be directed to other parking. Please do not block the driveways of residential properties.
