About The Fund
Kate Phalon McCarthy Memorial Fund is a nonprofit charitable organization founded to honor the life of Kate Phalon McCarthy, a beautiful, kind and beloved 15-year-old girl from Weymouth, Massachusetts. Kate died on April 9, 2016 in a car accident. Kate was a sophomore at Archbishop Williams High School in Braintree, where she played varsity volleyball, lacrosse, and ran track. She was also an honor roll student and member of the school chorus.

Kate was a ray of sunshine and a friend to everyone. She had an infectious laugh and a smile that would light up a room. She loved the beach and spending time at her family’s summer home on Cape Cod.

She is missed dearly by her mother, Nancy, father, Bob, and brothers, Connor and Liam, along with her grandparents and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. We want to keep her memory alive.

The Kate Phalon McCarthy Memorial Fund has been created to reflect the way Kate lived: loving, kind, caring and generous. The mission of the fund is to support our community through educational and athletic scholarships and programs, as well as causes focused on the well-being and care of veterans and children.

Kate Phalon McCarthy Memorial Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, tax ID 81-4572889. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
About The Race
We are so blessed to have had such a great turnout our first 2 years and cannot wait for this coming race! Join us on Sunday, May 19 for the third annual Kate’s Run, a 5k race/walk dedicated to Kate. The race begins at 10 a.m. at Braintree High School.

Merchandise awards will be given to the top 3 male/female finishers, and medals will be given to the top 3 finishers in each age group.

I attest that I am physically fit to compete in this event. Further, I hereby grant full permission to any and all of the foregoing to use my likeness in all media including photographs, pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. Race management reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of management's control such as weather, natural disasters or other emergencies. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. Management may also alter the course and distances for the safety of the athletes. I understand that the entry fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. SecureFee™ Registration Cancellation Insurance is offered in most states.
