Walk Information

  • With the support of Old South Union Church (OSU), our group is hosting the second annual Walk for Hope and Recovery on September 17, 2022. This event, open to all, is a way to unify and strengthen our community. The 1.4 mile walk will begin and end at OSU. Music and resources will be provided after the walk. Please join us as we walk to stomp out the stigma of addiction and celebrate recovery one step at a time.

  • If you pre-registered by August 27th, please arrive around 12:30 to get your t-shirt.

T-shirts/Donations

  • Suggested donation of $5, $10, $15, $20, other (donations of $5 or more will get a t-shirt).

  • Donation is not required for participation.

  • 100% of your donations will help the Addiction Recovery Team's work to make this walk an annual event and support community efforts in prevention and recovery from addiction. Thank you for your support!

  • To be guaranteed a t-shirt you must register by August 27th, to allow time for t-shirt production. However, after August 27th, though we won't be taking any more orders for t-shirts, you will still be able to register and donate. A limited supply of t-shirts will be available for purchase on the day of the walk.

I understand that participating in the Walk for Hope and Recovery, can be an activity involving risk of injury, including, but not limited to those caused by physical exertion which could result in serious injury or death. I am participating in this event with knowledge of all such risks, and I voluntarily assume those risks. I acknowledge that I am in good physical condition and do not know of any condition or reason that I should not be able to participate in the Walk. I recognize and acknowledge that Old South Union Church does NOT carry special health insurance that would provide such special insurance coverage for me in the event I should sustain an accidental injury while participating in the Walk. By my signature below, I hereby recognize and assume all risks associated with the Walk, waive any claim that I might have arising out of this activity, and agree to release, defend, and hold harmless Old South Union Church, its employees and volunteers harmless from any and all obligations, liabilities, claims, demands, costs, and expenses, including attorney’s fees, or demands of any kind and nature whatsoever which may arise by or in connection with my participation in any activities related to the event of the Walk. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use any photographs, motion pictures, recordings, or any record of this event for any legitimate purpose. SecureFee™ Registration Cancellation Insurance is offered in most states. If purchased, your registration may be covered for one of the covered reasons stated in the policy.
