Welcome to the Highlander Country 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run /Walk!
Come enjoy the tranquil surroundings of one of Northern NJ's most prestigious resources and stay for a fun-filled event that is sure to keep you coming back year after year!
The Course
Runners will be able to enjoy 2 courses: A challenging USATF Certified and Sanctioned 5K with various terrain and elevation changes, and an enjoyable 1 mile Fun Run/Walk Event good for all ages.
Awards
5K finisher awards will be given in a number of age brackets for M/F as well as the top overall finishers. All 5K racers will receive and email containing Links to posted race results as well as pictures of your finish! The 1 mile run will feature Props and Music to make the Race as enjoyable as possible and is suitable for all ages. All participants will receive a commemorative keepsake for their participation. Age Grouping for the 5K race will be as follows:
8 and Under, 9-11 , 12-14 , 15-19 , 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and Over.
Bib Pick-up and In Person Registration
Bib pick-up and in person registration will begin on Friday September 27, 2019 from 5:00-8:00pm at the West Milford REC Center (Gym 3), Located at 1 PAL Drive, West Milford, NJ 07480. At this time you may pick up your race packet or register in person. Pick-up will be available again the morning of the event Saturday September 28, 2019 starting at 7:00am at the main Tent located at the Starting Line in Wawayanda State Park.

Please note that in person registrations must be paid by cash or credit card only. In-person registrations will be $35.00 for the Highlander 5k and $20 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. You can register in person both at the Bib Pickup Location AND the morning of the event.
T-Shirts
Participants registered prior to August 30, 2019 are guaranteed to receive a Free t-shirt along with their Race Packet. Shirts are Limited Quantity and available on a First Come First Serve Basis.
Concessions
Concessions will be available on the Morning of the Race. Bagels, Bars, Water, Gatorade, Coffee, Hot Water and Snack will be Available.

   Individual Registration: Register as an individual participant.
Each participant, and parent or guardian of youth participants, must agree to this Waiver for themselves and on behalf of any youth participant whom they are registering. Please read carefully. I understand that walking and running in races are potentially hazardous activities. I should not enter and run or walk in the Highlander Country 5K Race and/or 1-Mile family run/walk (the “Event”) unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of an Event official relative to my ability to safely complete the Event. I assume every risk associated with participating in the Event including, but not limited to, falls, contact with Event participants or volunteers or with vehicles, the effects of the weather, and course conditions, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, and in consideration of your acceptance of my application, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, do waive and release the West Milford Soccer Club, Junior Highlanders Track Club, the Town of Hewitt, Event timers, sponsors and organizers, and their representatives, agents, affiliates, employees and successors from all claims and/or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in the Event even though such liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I also grant permission to all the foregoing to use any photograph, motion picture, recordings, or any other record of the Event for any legitimate purpose. I hereby certify the following: I am physically fit and have received medical clearance to participate in the Highlander Country 5K Race and/or the 1-mile Run/Walk being held on Saturday, September 28, 2019. If I do participate, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs and assigns, and my estate, hereby waive and forever discharge the sponsors, organizers, affiliates, as well as their agents and employees, from any and all claims that may occur as a result of my participation.
