Event Information
Our Race
Opening Ceremonies will be on the Village Common at 8 AM- please plan to be at the school by 7:50 so we can all enter through security as a group.
The 2 Mile Walk is through Old Sturbridge Village- enjoy our amazing museum grounds but be aware this is unpaved road. The walk will start at the same time as the 5K.
The 5K first mile is on a paved road, the second mile is through the village. Keep in mind that the route winding through our museum is unpaved and potentially uneven terrain. The third mile is back along the same paved road as the first mile.
All participants will get a beautiful, signature Way of the Ox medal. All pre-registered participants will get a Race T-Shirt. Day of registrants will be limited to t-shirts on a first come; first serve basis.
Last but certainly NOT LEAST- Have you heard about our AMAZING Swag Bags from last year? We have upped our game a bit this year and the swag bags will go to the first 140 participants registered in either the race or the walk. If this is your first year participating, you do NOT want to miss out on this. If you were there last year, YOU KNOW what we mean!
Our Cause
The 2nd Annual OSA Ox Trot 5K road race, walk and fun run will raise money to fund the hands-on Learning Expeditions for all 240 scholars at Old Sturbridge Academy in the 2019-2020 school year.
The Old Sturbridge Academy Mission
Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School will provide k-8 students with rigorous, real world learning experiences in a supportive and nurturing school community, helping all students to become reflective inquisitors, articulate communicators, critical thinkers, and skilled problem solvers. Old Sturbridge Academy Charter Public School, an EL Education school working in partnership with Old Sturbridge Village, will foster a learning environment that represents all aspects of the diversity spectrum where our students will meet or exceed grade-level expectations in all subject areas. The school will be distinguished by four key elements of EL Education: a commitment to community, a commitment to quality work, a commitment to real world applications and a commitment to imagination, exploration and immersion. A culture of quality will permeate the school and our students will graduate with an understanding of how they learn best and how to advocate for the resources they need when they are challenged.
OSA PTSA Mission Statement
The mission of the OSA PTSA is to promote collaboration between families, scholars and teachers to enrich the educational experience at OSACPS. OSA PTSA will support the needs of scholars and staff through fundraising and by being active stewards of the academy.
