Proceeds To Benefit All CCI Programs
The 1st Annual Conquering Addiction 5K was held on October 3rd, 2015, just one day after the first anniversary of the overdose death of 'Critter' and raised $7500 which was donated to the Upper Valley Turning Point (a local addiction resource center). Over the years, we have concentrated on raising money for our own programs, such as the Conquering Addiction Fitness Fund and the Critter Cares Fund. The Fitness Fund provides persons in recovery with zero cost gym membership to help them maintain a healthy lifestyle. The Care Fund provides persons in recovery assistance with medical copay costs for physician and counseling treatment as well as medicated-assisted treatment. Throughout the year we contribute to community gatherings such as The Hartford Community Coalition Block Party, The Hartford Police Department's National Night Out, and Headrest's Shattering The Stigma. We also help organize and sponsor the annual Hartford, Vermont Overdose Awareness Candlelight Vigil. These events help us connect with our diverse community and spread awareness, including how it affects the community as a whole and the families dealing with addiction issues on a daily basis. Our goal is to reduce the stigma which keeps so many people struggling with Substance Use Disorder, and their loved ones, from seeking help.
