About This Event
Get ready to run off that turkey!! We invite you to join us Sunday, 12/1/19 for the 7th Annual Rocket Race to benefit Auburn Youth and Family Services. This race features a 5k and a 1k Fun Run Santa Sprint (kids 10 and under only, please). The race starts and ends at the Pavilion at the Dr. Arthur and Dr. Martha Pappas Recreation Complex, and RaceWire will provide timing for real-time splits, race pictures, and Top Finisher results. Walkers welcome! And for those who may be out of town, but still want to support our organization, we have a VIRTUAL RUNNER option. Do a 5k on your own time during the week of the race, report your time, and we will mail you a sweet Finisher medal!

While family and friends are cheering on our runners, we will also have a bounce-house (weather permitting), free snacks and hot cocoa, an obstacle course, crafts, vendors, raffle items, and a chance to visit with SANTA! Trax from the Railers will help our runners and walkers warm up, cheer on the kids, and give away game tickets to a few lucky participants. Attendees will also be able sign up to sponsor a local family for AYFS's Holiday Giving program.
After the race, Off the Hook will be providing a post-run meal, and for those participants 21+ we are thrilled to present the Greater Good Imperial Brewing Beer Garden (2 beer tickets per runner, ID required)!
All proceeds from the event will go directly to Auburn Youth and Family Services, to assist local families in need. We welcome all ages and skill levels to this fun-filled, healthy day! Be sure to sign up early for the best pricing, and, don't forget to bring your can(s) of food for the AYFS Food Drive or a toy for the Holiday Toy Drive. We can't wait to see you there!
Top Male and Female finishers in 5k categories will receive a medal. All 1k Fun Runners will receive a ribbon. All runners and walkers, including Virtual participants will receive a Finisher medal.
T-Shirts & Goodie Bags
All runners, including adult and child race-day registrants, will receive a goodie bag. First 250 participants are guaranteed race tees, and additional shirts may be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Bibs and goodie bags will be available for pick up Saturday, 11/30 at the Heritage Cafe (Southbridge St., Auburn) from 9-11 am , and also at Chuck's Steakhouse (10 Prospect St., Auburn) from 4-6 pm.
Parking will be available at no cost on site at the Dr. Arthur and Dr. Martha Pappas Recreation Complex. As we use the main driveway for our 5k runners, we ask that those planning on leaving the venue between 9:45-11am park in the Pakachoag Church parking lot.
1k Fun Run will take place on the Recreation Complex grounds. The 5k course is a loop formation on paved roads in the Pakachoag area of Auburn. A map will be posted on our Facebook site.
