The Love Briarhills Fun Run is a community-wide 1 Mile & 5K Family Walk/Run held in the beautiful Briarhills neighborhood and Terry Hershey trail.
About This Event
The Love Briarhillls Run/Walk is a 1 mile and 5 K run open to all children and adults.
The race will begin at 9 am on 2/29/2020 near the Briarhills Community Center on Briarhills Pkwy. Please arrive by 8:30 to pick up your t shirt and take part in our group stretch.
Children ages 12 and under will be $15 and participants ages 13 and up will be $25. Ten Percent family discount when you register 5 or more people! Walkers, runners, strollers and wheelchairs welcome.
To receive a t shirt, participants must sign up by 2/12! After the 12th, participants will not be guaranteed a t shirt.
Virtual Runner- For those who cannot run with the group but want to support our community and receive a t shirt.
FPR Participants- Cost for members of Family Point Resources is $5. This price does not include a t shirt.
Registration will be available on the morning of the event from 8 am- 8:45 am at the Briarhills Community Center. Please bring cash, or check payable to Briarhills POA. Day of Registration will be $30 for adults and $20 for children.
Race Benefits
100% of the Race Proceeds will support the Briarhills Property Owner Association Playground Committee. This race helps raise money for needs in the Briarhills Park Area and focuses on family wellness and fitness, as well as strengthening community connections. In consideration of participating in the Briarhills Valentine’s All You Need is Love 1 mile or 5K family walk & run, I represent that I understand the nature of running events and that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such an activity. I acknowledge and agree that, if I believe event conditions are unsafe, I will immediately discontinue participation in the activity. Furthermore, I will comply with instructions as provided by the Run/Walk supervisors, I will follow the stated route, and I will not embark until support staff is in place and the Run/Walk route is officially opened. I fully understand and agree that running events are inherently dangerous activities that involve risks of serious bodily injury, including permanent disability, paralysis and death, which may be caused by my own actions, or inactions, those of others participating in the event, the conditions in which the event takes place, or the negligence of the “releases” named below or other causes; and that there may be other risks either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I fully accept and assume all such risks and all responsibility for losses, costs, and damages I incur as a result of my participation in the activity. I hereby release, discharge, and covenant for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, not to sue Briarhills Property Owner Association, or their administrators, directors, agents, officers, volunteers, employees, other participants, additional sponsors, advertisers, and, if applicable, owners and lessors of premises on which the activity takes place (each considered one of the “RELEASEES” herein) from any and all liability, claims, demands, losses, causes of action or damages of whatever kind or nature, arising from or related in any way to my participation in the Run/Walk caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the “releasees” or other causes, including negligent rescue operations. I further agree that if, despite this release, waiver of liability, and assumption of risk, I make a claim against any of the “releasees,” I will indemnify, save, and hold harmless each of the “releasees” from any loss, liability, damage or cost which may be incurred as the result of such claim, including reasonable attorney’s fees. This release, waiver of liability, assumption of risk and indemnity agreement shall be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the State of Texas.
