Event Information
The Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation envisions a world where women live free from harassment. We strive to achieve this goal through education and advocacy on safety awareness and gender equality. Since our establishment in 2017, we have funded grants that educate and mentor youth on challenging the gender stereotypes that often lead to objectification against women, and have educated hundreds of girls and women on safety awareness. Vanessa inspires our mission and fuels our continued efforts.
Due to COVID-19, our 2020 event will be virtual. Without the limitations of a physical event, we’re excited about the opportunity to expand our geographic and philanthropic reach. While the health crisis has impacted all of our lives, we are especially saddened by the increase in domestic abuse that has occurred during the pandemic. This year, proceeds from our event will support the expansion of VTMF programming to include domestic violence victims.
I assume all risks associated with running/walking in this event, including but not limited to the effects of weather, traffic, course conditions and course surfaces, falls, and contact with other runners, and spectators. I represent that I am in good physical condition and able to participate fully in this activity. There will be a non-refundable and non-transferable registration entry fee. I agree and hereby release, discharge, hold forever harmless and indemnify Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation, Take Root Advisors, the Marcotte Family, and all Board of Directors, agents, officers, consultants, sponsors, and employees against loss from any and all claims of ordinary negligence, demands, rights, or causes of action of any kind or nature that may hereafter at any time be made or brought by me, by anyone on my behalf, or by any other person having a legal interest therein arising from or by reason of any and all known or unknown, foreseen and unforeseen bodily or personal injuries, damages to property and consequences thereof which may be sustained by me in consequence of any accident or injuries in connection with the activity. I understand that if I indicate my T-shirt size during registration, the race organizer does not guarantee fit of the runner’s shirt and will not do exchanges. I further grant and convey unto VTMF all rights, title and interest in any and to all photographic images and video or audio recordings and all copies thereto made by VTMF during my participation in the activity, including, but not limited to, any royalties, proceeds or other benefits derived from such photographs or records. IF THE PARTICIPANT IS NOT 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER, THIS RELEASE MUST BE SIGNED BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. SecureFee™ Registration Cancellation Insurance is offered in most states.
