Why We Run
At RaceWire we thrive on giving people opportunities to achieve personal bests. Whether it’s your first race or you’re first in the race, we love watching people push their limits and compete alongside their fellow runners. Unfortunately, with the recent COVID-19 outbreak, these opportunities are few and far between. As runners we’re left wondering, where and when will I get to showcase all of my hard work?
Being runners ourselves, we began searching for a solution to this problem. How can we give people the opportunity to show all those winter miles didn’t go to waste and allow them to donate to help the fight against COVID-19? How can we provide a competitive atmosphere, while also practicing social distancing? That’s where the new RaceWire Virtual Run Club comes in.
How It Works
RaceWire Virtual Run Club runs each week from midnight on Monday morning to Sunday night at 11:59 PM. Throughout the week runners will have a chance to compete against people all across New England from their home turf. We will upload results daily for 4 different distances – 1 Mile, 5K, 10K and Half Marathon. Follow the instructions you get weekly to upload your results and attach proof of your run, such as a Strava post, Garmin Connect post or any other type of GPS tracker to be eligible for weekly prizes.
You'll get information in your confirmation email about how to submit your run data. And we'll update the entire club weekly on Mondays.
Tiers
This event will span however long it takes to get us back on the roads and competing alongside one another. The RaceWire Virtual Run Club will benefit the Mass General Hospital Emergency Response Fund. which is providing assistance locally to fight COVID-19.

Teams
We know you can't get together and run with all of your friends today, but that doesn't mean you can't show your team spirit. Start up a "socially distant" team with your friends, and we'll give out special prizes to the biggest teams by participation each week.
Safety
Run by yourself or with your household, run on the treadmill, run around your backyard, or even run laps around your balcony. Wherever you run, make sure to follow the proper social distancing protocols to keep yourself, your family, and your community safe. We'll all be running together soon enough!
