What is a Virtual Race?
Beech Dreaming is a virtual race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, or on the track. You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. The Beech Dreaming 5K can be completed any time during the month of June when it fits in your schedule.
Course
It is your course! Whether you are on the trails running, walking around your neighborhood or in your living room on a treadmill it all counts! You're encouraged to use an app such as MapMyRun, Strava, Apple Workout, or similar if you run or walk outside, but using a treadmill's stats will work too. If you're looking for a trail run in the woods, try out "All Trails."

5 kilometers (a 5k) is 3.1 miles.
Swag
The best part of a Virtual Race is rocking the swag afterwards. The District Concert Tee rocks with comfort. It will be available in Mens and Womens styles. This Tee will be shipped directly to you after the event has finished. You can make everyone jealous with your killer new T that you earned.

Results will be posted as they are sent into Parks & Recreation.
Results will be accepted up to June 31,2020 at 11 pm.

Safety
Please run or walk with only people from your household, or maintain 6 feet of separation with your favorite exercise partner. Air high-fives are encouraged! Don't forget to bring your own water, and tell someone your running route before you leave. Please run during daylight hours, and try to avoid busy intersections that might interrupt your momentum.
Why should you participate
Because we miss you! Seriously though, as much as you are Beech Dreaming - we are dreaming of you being here with us. We understand right now you can't but hopefully through all of this we can see your smiling faces and participate with us during this fun event.
Photos
Everyone loves their race photo proving the accomplishment of a 5k. Fun part of it being virtual - not only are you the racer, spectator, and aid station. You are your own photographer!! Send us your best selfie or family photo of getting out there and participating in Beech Dreaming 5K. Post it on social media using the hashtag #beechdreaming to show us how much fun you had!
