Westborough Turkey Trot

I know that participating in [whether by running, jogging, walking, volunteering, etc.] a road race in any manner is a potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained. By my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, am in good health, and am properly trained. I agree to abide by all decisions of any race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including, but not limited to, the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever in the official’s sole discretion. I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them. I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including, but not limited to, the following: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or roller blades, animals, and personal music players are not allowed in the race and I will abide by all race rules. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself, my heirs, assigns, representatives and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, do waive and release the Westborough Turkey Trot, the Town of Westborough, MA, the Westborough PTA, the Westborough Public Schools, all event sponsors, and all of their representatives, employees, volunteers, board members, officials (elected and appointed), contractors, subsidiaries, and successors (collectively the “Releasees”) from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. Additionally, I, for myself, my heirs, assigns, representatives and anyone entitled to act on my behalf agree to defend and indemnify the Releasees and to hold the Releasees harmless to the fullest extent permitted by law from and against any and all actions or events (including those brought by third parties) arising out of or in any way related to my participation in this event including, but not limited to, paying all costs, attorneys’ fees, expenses, judgments or awards incurred by the Releasees defending against any such actions or events. I grant permission to the Releasees to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings, any media containing a visual depiction of my person or audio recording of me, or any other record of this event for any purpose.
