About This Event
This annual event is a wonderful, family friendly 5K that will take you around beautiful Powder Point in Duxbury on the morning of Saturday, July 3rd. The race has a cap of 500 runners this year and only runners with a bib can enter the start area and compete in the race. Registration will be open through June 30th or unless sold out.
The Duxbury Education Foundation (DEF) organizes the event. The DEF receives, administers, and disburses funds for educational, scientific and charitable purposes to be used to develop, support and assist programs which benefit the students, teachers, and staff of the Duxbury public school system.
Course
The course will begin in the parking lot of the High School Turf on St. George Street. Race check-in will be outside the Steele Building at the back of the parking lot. Runners will travel on St. George to the flagpole on Washington Street, left onto Washington, right onto King Caesar, left onto Upland, another left back onto King Caesar and then left onto Powder Point. Race finishes with a right at the flagpole, back onto St. George and back to start line.
Awards
Male and Female top finisher: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-39, Masters (40-69) and 70+
Male and Female Top 3 finishers: Overall
Most Patriotic
Due to the earlier start time of the parade, there will be no formal awards ceremony post race. The overall and age category winners will receive awards in the mail.
Commemorative String Bags
All 500 registered runners will receive a snazzy string bag with the official DEF Road Race 2021 logo.
Water Station
There will be one water station on the course at approximately 1.2 miles.
