Event Details
This is our 5th Annual 5K! And for the second year in a row, the virtual event will be LIVE at 10 AM EST. We'll be using a Running App where the coach/DJs will pump us up with music, cheer us on, and give individual shout-outs. Participants can track their progress, post "sweaty selfies" in the chat feature, and post encouraging messages. Last year's event attracted participants from 34 states and four countries. We're excited to do it again!
Purpose of the Race
The Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation envisions a world where women live free from harassment. We strive to achieve this goal through education and advocacy on safety awareness and gender equality. Since our establishment in 2017, we have funded grants that educate and mentor youth on challenging the gender stereotypes that often lead to objectification against women, and have educated thousands of women and men on violence prevention and safety awareness. Vanessa inspires our mission and fuels our continued efforts.

I assume all risks associated with running/walking in this event. I represent that I am in good physical condition and able to participate fully in this activity. Marcotte Foundation, Take Root Advisors, the Marcotte Family, and all Board of Directors, agents, sponsors, and employees associated with this event. Further, I grant full permission to any and all of the foregoing to use my likeness in all media including photographs, pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose. The organizer does not guarantee fit of the runner’s shirt and will not do exchanges. IF THE PARTICIPANT IS NOT 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER, THIS RELEASE MUST BE SIGNED BY A PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN.
