Event Information
About This Event
This year’s annual SKP 5k run/walk will be held on September 18th as part of Pelham, NH Old Home Day. All proceeds raised as a result of this race will go towards the Sean K. Paradis (SKP) Memorial Scholarship Fund in an effort to continue establish educational scholarships for local, Pelham, NH students. This fund provides two annual educational scholarships for local Pelham, NH High School students looking pursue a college degree.
Sean was a well known and beloved graduate of Pelham High School who excelled in academics, athletics and social activities. His academic and athletic capabilities landed him at Wentworth Institute of Technology where he became a staple on the mens lacrosse team, an exceptional architecture student and a great friend to many on campus. This fundraiser will continue to fund scholarships for local students that embody Sean’s incredible spirit and drive as a similar student athlete.
In honor of Kate Biedron
Kate was the driving force behind the SKP Memorial Scholarship as the race director for the SKP 5K. Kate's energy, infectious laugh and beautiful smile not only helped pull together the race but also made it enjoyable for all of those involved. We tragically lost Kate this past spring but her spirit continues to encourage us to “rock on” and drive forward.
In honor of Kate Biedron, we ask that you please bring an item for the Food Pantry (canned good, pasta, etc). There will be boxes located near the registration tables clearly marked for any donations! If you forget and would like to donate to the Food Pantry we will also have a dropbox available for any cash willing to be donated.
In remembrance of Katie, there will also be Kate Biedron rocks placed all around the race. Please feel free to pick up a rock and join the movement of spreading Kate’s love.
How it works: When you find a Kate Rock please read the back. Once found, please place the rock in a place that will bring you comfort, peace, or remind you of Kate, no matter where you are or where
you go.
