Gather the family to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the landmark equality legislation known as Title IX; sign up to support girls’ and women’s sports by running (or walking!) in the NIXON 5K FOR TITLE IX.

Athletes are encouraged to wear their favorite team gear supporting girls sports!

This moderate course begins and ends at the Nixon Library, and will follow Yorba Linda's El Cajon Trail. This is accessible for runners of all levels; strollers are welcome and dogs are allowed. Following the race, guests are invited to stop by the vendor fair in the Library parking lot!

To pick up your race package early: visit the Nixon Library lobby on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.

In June of 1972, President Nixon signed the Education Amendments Act of 1972, which included Title IX, prohibiting sexual discrimination in any institution receiving federal funding. Today, it is best known as the amendment that grants women and girls equal opportunities to participate in high school and college athletics.

Few knew just how consequential Title IX would be. In just 37 words, Title IX launched a revolution in women’s sports.
