Somerset Berkley Education Foundation's 5K to Benefit Students & Educators in Somerset & Berkley
Thank you for joining our Halloween 5K (Run or Walk)!

The Somerset Berkley Education Foundation, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, grants to educators in Somerset and Berkley schools for programs outside of school budgets that further creativity, innovation, and excellence. Since 2019, we have awarded more than $100,000 in grants for innovative curricula and projects including the arts, STEM, life skills, and creative educator-led projects.
RACE INFORMATION
RACE DAY CHECK-IN & SAME DAY REGISTRATION STARTS at 7:30 A.M.
THIS EVENT IS RAIN OR SHINE!

Registration will also be accepted on Race Day starting at 7:30 A.M. (cash or check, electronic payment (Venmo like transaction called "Give Butter")
-Race and Walk STARTS AT 9:00 A.M.

This is a fundraiser for students so will not issue refunds.

** We will have water and race snacks for participants.

THE RACE COURSE
The 5K starts at Pierce Beach and runs along the scenic Taunton River along Riverside Avenue and returns the same route back to the beach. There will be volunteers stationed along the race route.
COSTUMES
Everyone is encouraged to wear Halloween costumes (even if you are not running or walking)! We will have prizes in multiple categories for costumes.
T-SHIRTS
TO GUARANTEE A RACE SHIRT YOU MUST SIGN UP BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11, 11:59 P.M. A limited amount will be available race day for those who missed the deadline.
Teams
You can register for a team (note: if you are first person to enter as team you must create the team yourself). Contact sharon.puccini@gmail.com or 917-434-3257 with questions. Students consider making a teams! Past groups include cross country team, football team, filed hockey, music groups and more.
PRIZES
There will be cash awards for overall winners (first female and first male), prizes for age group winners, prizes for first male teacher and first female teacher winners, costume prizes, team prizes (student groups, teams participation), medals for children participants, and special prizes!

I know that running is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter or run this event unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with running this race included but not limited to fall, contact with other participants, the effects of weather, including high heat and humidity, the conditions of the road and traffic on the course, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. Having read this waiver, I for myself, and anyone entitled on my behalf, waive and release RaceWire, The Town of Somerset, MA, the Somerset Berkley Education Foundation, and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the person(s) named in the waiver.
