General Info
The Black Cat 10 and 20 miler is in its 4th year! The 10 mile event makes for a great winter goal and the 20 mile falls at the perfect time for all of you training for Boston or an early spring marathon. This is one of the most scenic endurance events with the best volunteers, aid stations at every 1.5miles and cool swag for all participants.
Race Venue (CHANGE)
NEW!! This year the race start/finish has changed! We will be starting and finishing at the Boys and Girls Club of Salem. 13 Hawthorne Blvd. Salem, MA.
Plenty of Parking in community lots, street, parking garage on the corner of Derby/Congress St.
Custom Shirts
First 1000 participants to register (both races combined) will receive a Long Sleeve Gender Specific tech Shirt (sizes not guaranteed, first come first serve)
Allie Castner Scholarship Fund
By supporting this worthy cause, we can all continue to hold Allies world her spirit her memory, and her remarkable life in our hearts forever. Anyone who runs for Allie will be given a special gift.
Run for Allie
On August 24, 2009, 15-year-old Allie Castner was tragically struck and killed by a car as she was crossing the street in her hometown, Marblehead, Massachusetts. Allie touched and enriched so many lives. It is through the Allie Castner Scholarship Fund that Allie will live on, providing other young high school students with the opportunity to benefit while representing the honor, integrity and purpose with which Allie celebrated each and every day: Loving, Living & Learning. .

Parking Garage on corner of Congress and Derby St. (1 New Liberty Street, Salem.) Street parking is available, please be cautious of street signage. Parking around Salem Common is permitted.

Course
The 20 mile course is a two loop run with a few rolling hills, some good down hills and gorgeous scenic views. The event starts and finishes in the heart of downtown Salem at the Boys and Girls Club of Salem. Runners will follow Lafayette St. continuing on 114 into Marblehead and turn around at the entrance to Devereux Beach. Head back into Salem all the way down Fort Avenue and looping back into downtown Salem.
Allies Relay - 20 Mile Option Only
Each team can have 2-4 members. The relay transition spot is at mile 5, Gatchell Park. (Corner of Westshore Drive/Lafayette in Marblehead.)
Awards
First Overall Male and Female in 10 mile. First Overall Male and Female in 20 mile. Top three male and female in each age category. Top three relay teams in Allies Relay (no double dipping in award categories) Top three running clubs(cumulative times.)
