Code 3.1Fire Run is a 5K run/walk followed by a family festival, children’s activities, refreshments & entertainment.
Partnership with Code 3 for a Cure
Brawley Firefighter’s Association is thrilled to be continuing its partnership with Code 3 for a Cure on this great event. The two organizations share a common vision of recognizing and supporting the well-being of all firefighters through health and awareness. One of our main priorities is bringing more awareness to cancer related illnesses amongst firefighters and providing assistance to those who need it.
Event Day /Location/Timeline
Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Brawley Fire Department Station 2 located on the corner of N. Eastern Ave. and Jones St. The start line will be in the apparatus area of the station and finish line is back through the apparatus.
TIMES: 6:30 a.m. – Day of event registration opens,
7:45 a.m. – Opening race ceremony,
8:00 a.m. SHARP – Race starts (no late starters),
8 to 12 p.m. – Immediately following the run/walk; enjoy free refreshments, informative exhibits, fun activities and entertainment.

Adult, ages 18 & older
$30 before race day ($35 day of race)
Youth, ages 6-17
$20 before race day ($25 day of race)
Children, ages 5 & under
$10 before race day ($15 day of race)

“Short & Sweet Route”
Not up for going the full 5K (3.1-mile) distance? No problem! We have a “Short & Sweet Route” just for you! Register for the 5K (be sure to select the untimed option) and on race day, start the 5K at 8:00 a.m. At the intersection of N. Eastern Ave. and River Dr. follow the signs directing you back to the festival area. This alternative course is approximately 1 mile.
Timing
You have the option of doing the 5K “JUST FOR FUN” or “TIMED.” If you select “TIMED” you will receive a timing tag for an official race time. If you’re not interested in receiving an official time and want to run or walk just for fun, please choose “JUST FOR FUN”. Note: All participants will be able to see a digital clock at the finish line displaying the elapsed race time. If you’ll be taking the Short & Sweet route, sign up for the “JUST FOR FUN” option.
If you registered for a timing tag, you will receive a bib with the timing tag attached to it. Be sure to remove the timing tag and attach it to your shoe before the race. Your timing tag will activate and start timing you once you cross the timing mat at the start of the race so it does not matter which wave you start in.
Virtual Participants Welcome!
Live outside the Imperial Valley or unable to join us on race day? That’s okay; you can still be a part of this great event and support the cause by selecting “Virtual Participant” during the registration process. The Virtual Participant registration fee includes an event shirt that will be mailed in advance. This will allow all virtual participants to wear their event shirt on race day and celebrate in their own special way — we encourage you to wear your official shirt as you walk, run, play, sleep-in, or do something positive for your community. We’d love for you to share your plans and then post photos of yourself wearing your Code 3.1 Fire Run T–shirt on our Facebook page!
Pre-Registration/Packet Pickup Event
Plan to pick up your bib number and shirt before the race at the Pre-Registration/Packet Pickup Event taking place on Thursday, April 23rd from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. at GNC Brawley (1050 S Brawley Ave, Ste. 102, Brawley, CA 92227).
Age Group Awards
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in age divisions: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 55+. To qualify, you must select “TIMED” when registering.
POST-RACE FAMILY FESTIVAL
After your race join us at the Family Festival where you can enjoy refreshments, listen to music, visit exciting vendor booths and much more.
