Grand Terrace Lions 5K & 10K Fun Run/Walk for FREEDOM

In consideration for being permitted to participate in the Grand Terrace Lions 5K Fun Run/Walk for Freedom (hereinafter "event/class"), I, (Last, First, Middle) hereby freely, voluntarily and without duress execute this Release, Hold Harmless and Agreement Not to Sue (“Release”) under the following terms: 1. I fully understand that my participation in the event/class exposes me to the risk of personal injury, death or property damage. I hereby acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in this event/class and agree to assume any such risks. I further acknowledge and understand that I should contact my personal physician about potential health risks associated with participation in the event/class. I hereby expressly and specifically assume the risk for any medical problems including illness or injury that may develop or worsen as a result of participation in this event and waive and release City from any liability therefore. 2. I hereby forever release, discharge and agree not to sue the City of Grand Terrace (“City”), its directors, officials, employees, agents and volunteers for any injury, death or damage to or loss of personal property arising out of, or in connection with, my participation in the event/class from whatever cause, including the active or passive negligence of Grand Terrace Lions Club, the City, its directors, officials, employees, agents and volunteers or any other participants in the event/class. I understand that by signing this Release I am also agreeing to discharge the City from any liability or claim that I may have against the City with respect to any bodily injury, personal injury, illness, death or property damage that may result from my attendance or participation at the event/class, whether caused by the negligence or carelessness of the City. Pursuant to California Civil Code § 1542, this Release extends to all claims and risks, whether known or unknown, at the time of its execution. 3. I hereby agree, for myself, my heirs, administrators, executors and assigns, that I shall indemnify and hold harmless Grand Terrace Lions Club, the City, its directors, officials, employees, agents and volunteers from any and all claims, demands actions or suits arising out of or in connection with my participation in the event/class. I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS AND AGREEMENT NOT TO SUE AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS. I AM AWARE THAT IT IS A FULL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY AND SIGN IT ON MY OWN FREE WILL.
