Event Overview
Welcome to Voices Against Violence's 5th Annual "Run/Walk to Break the Silence" Event on Saturday, September 24th!

Honorary Chair: U.S. Representative Katherine Clark

Voices Against Violence is the local community based domestic violence and rape crisis center serving the greater Framingham and Marlborough areas of MetroWest Boston. We provide free and confidential services and support to victims and survivors of sexual and domestic violence including 24 hour hotline, counseling and support groups, advocacy, confidential shelter and supervised visitation. All of our services are offered in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Event Logistics
• Event Start Time: 9AM for music, displays, guest speakers and children’s activities
• Run/Walk Start Time: 10AM sharp. The timed run will begin promptly at 10AM followed by the walkers and casual runners.
• Location: 7 Bishop Street, Framingham, MA 01702
• Parking: Free parking in the rear of the building.
• T-shirts: First 250 registrants will get an event t-shirt
• Wrap-up: The course will bring you back to 7 Bishop for the post-race awards and celebration and we will end by noon.
• Registration fees: Timed Runner fee is $25. There is no registration fee for 2K Walkers/Causal Runners.

Timed 5K Information
Registration fee is $25 if you register online prior to race day; $30 onsite the day of the race - cash or check only. We STRONGLY encourage you to register online to guarantee your spot and help us get an accurate head count.

• You can pick up your bib beginning at 9AM on site the day of the race.

• The route takes you from 7 Bishop Street through the neighborhood and back to 7 Bishop. A course map is now posted below.

• Runners and walkers/casual runners have different course routes to avoid any logistic challenges that might interfere with a runner’s time.

• Awards for top 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female overall finishers
• Top male and female finishers in 4 age categories
o under 25
o 25-39
o 40-55
o over 55

2K Walker and Casual Runner Information
• There is no fee for walkers and casual runners, however on line registration is strongly encouraged so that we have an accurate head count.
• This course is approximately 2K (1.2 miles) and family friendly. The route is now posted below. Casual runners are also welcome to run the 5K course but as a courtesy you will start after our timed runners.

While you are registering for an event, you will have the option to sign up for fundraising. It will happen after you register, on your confirmation page. Click “Sign up to fundraise.” You can make a donation here to someone that is already fundraising, or sign up to fundraise yourself. Enter in your email address for further details, and then you will be brought to a page to further entering in your information. This will bring you to your fundraising summary page. You can see how much you’ve raised, and make edits. Click “Click to edit profile” You can edit the personal message that people see when they come to your page. You can change your fundraising target dollar amount. You may also change the image on your page and the message people see when they donate. You can change what is visible to people visiting your page too. Be sure to click save! You will also find your link to share with friends and family here. Click “preview” to see what your page looks like.

Once you're registered, you can login to your athlete account and go to “My Page” Scroll to the bottom of your page to see the event you’ve registered for.
