8:30 one-mile kids' race

5K Run or Walk
The course is a loop on paved non-vehicular roads. The entire course is through the woods, and passes meadows and WWII ammunition bunkers. Volunteers will be placed at intersections to help participants stay on track. We hope the course will be a USTF-certified 5K by race day.

Age Groupings and Prizes
Age Groups are male and female in the following groups: 14 & under, 15-40, 41-60, and 61+. First, second, and third places receive engraved medals and Greater Boston Running Co gift cards ($20, $15, and $10). First place winners 18 and over also win one hour massages at Driftway Muscular Therapy.
Youth One-Mile Race
The One-Mile race is open to all kids up to and including eighth grade. It will look and feel just like the 5K- kids will have race numbers, t-shirts, be timed. Volunteers will be stationed on the course. $25 Greater Boston Running Co gift cards and engraved medals will be awarded to the top boy and girl finishers in the 10-years-old-and-older, and the under-10-year-old categories. First through third places in each category will receive Yogurt Bar gift cards and engraved medals.
Kids' Dash
The Kids' Dash is a lot of fun. While designed for kids not ready for the One-Mile, parents and older siblings are welcome to join. Volunteers line the paved 150 meter loop at the Visitors' Center. Registration is encouraged but not needed. Registrants receive a race bag and race number just like the adults. You can choose to register your child either in the free category (gets bag and number) or in the $15 t-shirt category (also gets a t-shirt like everyone else). All kids get a "golden" (plastic) finisher medal and lots of cheers.
Top Dog of the Dog Jog
All friendly dogs are welcome as long as they stay on a leash shorter than 6' at all times (park rules). The first dog to cross the 5K finish line gets a gift basket, $25 at the Greater Boston Running Club, an engraved medal, and glory. All good dogs get a special treat.
Registration Fees
$25 for adults and $15 for youth 17 and under- includes t-shirt if registered by 10/30. There is a free option (no shirt) for kids just running the Kids' Dash. Families (same household) can register for a flat rate of $75. Trainers and Coaches please send an email to sfxroadrace@gmail.com to discuss discounts for your teams.

Raffles
So far we have:
1. A three-month family membership to the Hanover/Quincy YMCA. ($500)
2. A heavy-duty Adirondack chair from Chapin's Wood Products in Whitman. ($260)
3. A super cool kid's bike and helmet. ($150)
Family Activities
The race is a fun place to hang out before and after. We will have a DJ, bouncy house, face painting, lawn games, and other activities TBD. The Wompatuck Visitor's Center has a large indoor space in case of rain.
T-shirts and other goodies
If you register by 10/30 you are guaranteed a free long sleeve (charcoal grey color) performance t-shirt. Kids all get Coop's Troop water bottles and some fun noise makers. There will be a few other small goodies for everyone.
Bag Pickups
We will have pickup Saturday 11/11 from 2-3:45 at the Greater Boston Running Co in the Hingham Derby Street Shoppes. Thank you to the GBRC for its Gold Sponsorship. You may also pickup at the race.
Day-of registration
You can register at Wompatuck starting at 7:30 on the day (Sunday) of the race. We will keep registration open until just before the 9am 5K start. Please note the Youth One-mile starts at 8:30. Cash and checks only please.
2017 Dedication
This year's race is dedicated to honoring the memory of Cooper Matthew Richards, a young member of the St. Francis Xavier family who was called to God this year. Please visit Coop's Troop Foundation at coopstroop.org to learn how his legacy is Caring for Courageous Children. We are also remembering Kate Phalon McCArthy, David M. Tapper, and all the other members of the SFX family whom we have also lost far too soon
