Stein Dash Information
5Ks are fun. Beer is fun. 5Ks & Beer are typically not a natural pairing....typically. However, on Sunday, October 8th, the best of both worlds collide for the second annual STEIN DASH - and this year will again be EXCITING, for sure! (How you ask? Keep reading...).
So, here's the plan. You and your bestest friends are going to meet us at the start line Sunday morning. You're going to wander over to packet pickup where you will receive a pretty sweet Commemorative Stein, an awesome event shirt, a bib number, a token for a free post-run drink, and a high-five. Then we shoot off our gun and you get running.
3.1 miles is no marathon but it still requires a pit stop (or three) and honestly water at on-course stops are a thing of the past. Grab your Stein, fill it up with a different beer at each of our three Beer Zones and chug, sip, sample, taste, pound - however you want to do it - just drink that beer and get back on the course because the clock still runs as you drink.
We are all going to be super proud of you when you finish the race, so we'd like to buy you a beer (or root beer). All you have to do is keep walking....the Finish Line is going to aim you right into the amazing Festhalle at Oktoberfest NW. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy. The beer will be flowing (and you will have a free one to brag to your lazy friends about), there's football on TVs (except the Hawks, they have a bye), huge selection of awesome beer, food, WEINER DOG RACES, and of course... MORE BEER.
New this year! The Kids Rootbeer Run! Now there's a race for the under 21s! Kids 10 and under can register now for the Rootbeer Run. A 1/2 Mile Kids Run with the same premise as the adults. Run, Chug Run! At the halfway mark, kids will be greeted with a 5oz root beer to chug in the root beer garden before racing to the finish line. All registered kids will receive an awesome kids running cape and gift at the finish line!

I know that running a road race, regardless of the distance, includes an element of risk. I should not enter and participate in the 2017 Stein Dash or Kids Rootbeer Run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of an event official relative to my ability to compete in this event safely and I further agree that event officials may authorize necessary emergency treatment for me. I also understand that, although police protection will be provided, both vehicle traffic and spectators may be present along the course and I assume the risk of participating in this event including, but not limited to, illness, traveling to and from the event, falls, contact with spectators or other participants, the effects of weather, and the surface conditions of the roads and sidewalks, all such risks being understood and appreciated by me. I agree not to be an operator of any wheeled device with the exception of an approved racing style wheelchair with dual handbrakes and a bicycle flag. As a wheelchair participant, I agree that I am fully responsible for my own safety, and I acknowledge all responsibility for any claim made by any other participant arising from collision with my wheelchair. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts, and in consideration of the acceptance of my entry, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors, administrators or anyone else who might claim on my behalf, covenant not to sue, and waive, release and I discharge Fizz Events, Festivals Inc, Oktoberfest NW, Washington State Fair Event Center, City of Puyallup, Pierce County, event officials, volunteers and all other sponsors, suppliers, independent contractors, employees and any other personnel in any way assisting or connected with this event from any and all claims or liability of any kind of nature whatsoever arising out of my participation in this event, event though liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or parties named in this waiver. I also understand and agree that sponsors may subsequently use, for publicity or promotional purposes, my name or pictures of me in this event without liability or obligation to me.
