About This Event
This is the fifth annual Bridgewater Police 5k and 1mi Kids Fun Run. Enjoy a beautiful run through historic downtown Bridgewater. The course is relatively flat, and fast! This event starts and ends at the Bridgewater Police Station.
The kids 1mi fun run will be a times event and will begin PROMPTLY at 8:30am, followed by the 5k PROMPTLY at 9:00am. Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event.
Raffles and awards will follow at approximately 9:45am.
Awards will be given in a number of age brackets for m/f as well as the top 3 for law enforcement. Those brackets are <14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
We will be timing the kids 1mi race and giving awards to the top 3 finishers for this event. It is vital that children be registered online in advance so that we can have the correct number of bibs with timing chips. Please note that the kids 1mi fun run is still offered at no cost, we simply ask that you bring a nonperishable food donation for the local food pantry.
PLEASE CHECK EXPIRATION DATES ON ALL DONATIONS!
LADIES SHIRTS TEND TO RUN SMALL. You might want to consider ordering a size larger than you would normally wear, or ordering a men's shirt. The only difference is the men's cut is a bit more generous and less tailored in the shoulder and bust area.
Shirts will be guaranteed for ALL participants that register before August 24, 2018. After that date, we will do our best to accommodate with sizing and availability. There will be additional shirts available to purchase at $10.00 each. Cash or check only. Will not be able to accept credit cards at the event.
All runners that cross the finish line will receive a finishers medal. All kids participating in the 1mi Kids Fun Run will receive a ribbon as they cross the finish line.

Post Race Events
Please plan to stay in Bridgewater after the race and enjoy Autumn Fest held on the BSU Quad starting at 10:00am.
We are thrilled to announce that our 2018 primary beneficiary will be America's VetDogs. (www.vetdogs.org) America's VetDogs breed, raise, train and place service dogs with disabled veterans and first responders at no cost to them. These dogs are trained in prisons beginning at 8 weeks old. Prisoners are highly screened for this program and live and work with the dogs 24/7 except when the dogs go out on the weekends with their weekend puppy raisers. These are members of the community that volunteer their time to help socialize the dogs to a variety of situations. Dogs must be desensitized to other animals, children, loud noises and a host of other environmental factors too numerous to list here.
We are very fortunate to have this program right here in Bridgewater at Old Colony Correctional Center. Are there is always a need for weekend puppy raisers if you're looking for a way to give back. There will be more information available on race day as well as a visit from the dogs currently training at Old Colony and their weekend puppy raisers on race day!
We ask that you NOT touch the dogs without asking the puppy raiser FIRST!
The pasta dinner in 2016 and 2017 were so popular, there will be a pasta dinner again in 2018 held along with the bib pick-up. Even if you don't want to run, come join us for a fun community evening. You can buy raffle tickets and enjoy some delicious food.
