Event Information
The MBBF 5K Run Walk and Fun Run is held to benefit the Mary Beth Benison Foundation Inc. We are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization in the run by volunteer staff. The primary mission is to provide financial assistance to ALS patients and families. In addition, we provide financial assistance to Massachusetts residents fighting cancer and other serious illnesses and support and partner with charities close to Mary Beth’s heart.

What is special about this event is that the MBB Foundation honors the memory of Mary Beth and another individual within the ALS community.

Proceeds raised from this event will be used to help reduce the financial burden for patients and their families. Since last fall we have provided over $22,000.00 in grants to 26 patients and their families and we continue to receive more requests each week. These grants have helped people purchased medical equipment, paid for medical services and care, paid household bills such as mortgage, rent, oil, gas, electric, telephone, furnace repair, contributed toward to cost of a handicap accessible van, a handicap ramp and helped with the expense of a family vacations. The majority of people we have helped live in Massachusetts, however we have provided grants to ALS patients in New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Maryland, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and California.

In addition we partnered with Binkeez for Comfort and funded a program to deliver Binkeez on a monthly basis to the Pediatric Cardiac ICU at Boston Children’s Hospital and supported ALS TDI and their work to find a cure.

Please join us for a fun day for a great cause. Help us #SpreadTheLove #mbbloves
